All Star Roller Skating Club began in January 2010 and so we are probably the youngest skating club in Britain. Our aim is to introduce new people, both young and old, to the sport of artistic roller skating. Everyone is encouraged to try skating. It's fun, it's good for you and once you get "the skating bug" it usually stays with you for life!

Fantastic all body work out that you don't even notice (approximately 300 calories per hour)

There are currently 4 sessions every week::

Saturday
10am --12pm
Smithills Sport Centre, Smithills Dean Road, Bolton. BL1 6JS

Saturday 3.30 -- 5.30
Pulse Leisure Centre, Springfield Road, Coppull, Chorley. PR7 5EG

Sunday 11am -- 1pm
Horwich Leisure Centre, Victoria Road, Horwich. BL6 5PY

The sessions are £4 each plus £1 for skate hire.

If you have your own skates then please bring them.
Unfortunately you cannot use rollerblades as the centres will not allow them.
Children under 8 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

So if you come and learn  to rollerskate with All Star Skating in Bolton, Horwich or both if you wish, you will receive free skating tuition and free certificates. We accept all ages and abilities. Beginners to competition standard.

What can I expect on my first visit?

As you are welcomed by Steve or Becky and given your skates you will notice all the other skaters practising their skills. Steve will then take you over to the barrier and try to explain the difference between walking and skating (ha) and will soon have you rolling along. All our skaters are at different levels of skill so there's no need to feel embarrassed. Our structured grading system allows everyone to progress at their own pace and although most people pass certificate 1 on their first or second visit there is no rush, if you can't do a skating element right now, with tuition and practice, you soon will.

After the lessons we have about 30 minutes of general skating and you can have a go at Steve's 'roller limbo', (how low can you go)
Followed by 30 minutes of roller dance. Glide waltz, Olympic foxtrot etc etc.

Tuition and Certificates Free of Charge!

It is our aim to teach our skaters all aspects of artistic roller skating i.e. figures, free skating and roller dance and so we don't charge for tuition or certificates. We hope that some of our skaters will represent the club in competitions.

And Finaly

Artistic Roller Skaters learn many life skills in their training, often greatly improving their self-esteem and confidence, which can trickle down into better performance in school and closer relationships with their parents. Poise and body awareness are gained. Fitness guidelines, sports psychology and nutritional tips, along with goal setting and the value of perseverance in attaining goals, motivation and self-discipline are also learned.

We have people coming from all over the north west of England to skate. From the red rose county of Lancashire, Manchester and beyond.  From Bolton, Farnworth, Westhoughton, Horwich as well as Chorley and Addlington. We even have someone travelling all the way from Chester. Perhaps your an ice skater? Why not try rollers? It will help with your ice skating.
Why not give it a try. Learn to roller skate. We work hard but most of all we have FUN!!
